The new Iron Man Series there were lots of familiar faces and some that where new to HS trying to improve their standings. It was a great day for racing (unless you are Scott Seibert). Scott broke his leg at a race the day before.

The 22 Quads took to the starting line hoping for a good finish. Scott Burkitt finished right where he wanted to taking the win in the Quad A class. In the Quad B class Andre Topper had the lead for the first few laps with Cody Toal taking over the lead on lap 5. Cody would keep the lead and win the race, with Andre finishing 2nd. Paul Schultz had the 3rd spot; Thomas Bassett would finish 4th and Todd McGuire 5th. Only 1 DNF in the Quads so over all a very good day. Great job.

Now it was time for the so very cute 50’s. In the JR’s class 6 riders take to the line. Tommy Fortune was the leader on lap one and would stay there the next 8 laps and take the win. Nice racing Tommy. Jaden Torres had the 2nd spot on lap one, but Kyle Green had 2nd place in his sites and was catching Jaden. Kyle would finish 2nd place with 7 laps, and Jaden in 3rd place with 6 laps. Carter Holder finished in 4th, with Micah Allemen in 5th but guys riding 6 laps. Nathan Metz finish 6th place with 5 laps. Good job to all you youngsters.

The older guys 50 SR have had 11 riders on this great day. Shawn Thompson was the first rider though the checkpoint on lap one. Shawn was feeling the heat from the riders behind him, with Tanner Whipple running 2nd and Luke Wamhoff 3rd. On lap four Tanner Whipple took the lead with Eli Otterbach a close 2nd and Luke still running in 3rd, Shawn fell to 4th place. After 11 laps Tanner held on for the win, Eli was 2nd, 3rd place went to Luke and Shawn 4th. Riding 10 laps and finishing in the 5th place position was Garrett Ward. Way to go to all the riders as there was no DNF’s.

Time for the 65’s and 85’s to get started. Another great turn out for the 85’s 17 Riders. Tanner Porter thought he would give the HS racing a try and would finish 10th place for his first time out. Hope to see you again out here Tanner. The 85’s saw lots of lead changes in the first few laps. On lap 1 Nolan Schuler had the lead, with Joey Fortune a very close 2nd and on Joey’s rear fender was Travis Ward with the 3rd spot and Mitchell Ternes a very close 4th. Joey would take the lead on lap two only to give it up to Travis on lap 3. Travis would hold on to the lead until lap 6 when Joey would take the lead back from Travis. Joey would hold on to the lead to take the win with Travis a very close 2nd. Mitchell would finish in the 3rd spot, with Nolan in 4th place. Nice riding guys.

The 65’s had 5 riders on the line all of them hoping for the win. Mason Schuler had the lead for the first few laps, with Ronnie Beach taking the lead over on lap 3. Mason was very determined to take the lead back and do on lap 7. Mason would hold on to the lead to take the win and Ronnie was 2nd, Matthew McDonald finished in the 3rd spot. Colton Brough finished very strong in 4th place, with Braxton Bill taking the 5th spot. Keep on riding hard.

Over on the women’s/thumper track 11 ladies lined up and 20 thumper guys. Glad to see all the ladies out there, the class has come a long way. For the women’s class Chelsea Marfell would take the win after racing 6 laps. Also riding 6 laps was Hannah Keith finishing 2nd, Taylor Clark 3rd and Nikki Dixon (402) 4th place. Rounding out the top 5 was Veronica Martin riding 5 laps. Way to go ladies.

The 20 thumpers took off o so fast. Ryan Moss (24) got the hole shot and never looked back. Ryan finished 1st after 7 hard laps. The man on the move was Matthew Dissoll on lap 1 he was 11th but was determined not finish that far back and moved up to 5th place on lap 5. That still wasn’t good enough for Matthew he wanted more. With only one lap left he knew that he was running out of town and needed to make his move, so he passed two more bikes to finish in the 3rd spot. Way to go Matthew. Nick Blacklaw ran in the top 3 all 7 laps and would finish 2nd. Nicholas Broll finished a strong 4th with William Tracey taking the 5th spot.

Time for the BIG bikes with 121 bikes lined up and ready to go. Still trying to get use to seeing my son lined up with the BIG bikes.

Ryan Moss would take the hole shot again in the AA class, and be the first bike though the checkpoint, but Trye Verado didn’t want to settle for 2nd place so he had his sites set on 1st place and Ryan. Trye would do that on lap 3 and would not give it up taking the win. Ryan finished in 2nd place, with Lee Lankutis placing 3rd. Matthew Dissoll took a small break after his great run in the thumper class and took 4th place in the AA class. Matthew Westlake finished 5th place.

The 30+B class was down a few riders, one I had heard has a broken ankle. I feel sorry for his wife. Jerry Oksas would get the win in the class after a hard run. Brian Roland took the 2nd spot. Mark Ficek was taking spots over every lap and would finish 3rd place. Josa Villarreal ended the day in 4th, while Jason Ketoe rounded out the top 5 in the 5th spot.

The 30+C has one of the nicest guys in it. (Stevie) (Perkinator) On the day, just like most of the others Stevie was on fire and was not going to settle for anything but a win. Stevie had the lead on lap 1 and would not give it up and take the win. Finishing 2nd place was Brian Smith. In the 3rd spot was Brian Doughty. The 4th place spot would go to Anthony Leone, and Rick Knigge would finish in 5th place.

I have to say one of my fav classes to watch during the Big bike is the 86-200 C. This class is for some a stepping-stone from the 85 classes to the Big bikes. The top three rides in the class would all run 8 laps. JJ Cones would take the win, with Grant Bodmer and Jake Seibert battling for the 2nd stop. In the end Jake would finish in 2nd, with Grant in 3rd and Nicholas Broll edging out Reid Ward for 4th. Reid took the 5th spot.

Great job to all of the riders, keep on riding hard and safe. We will see you September 13th hopefully we will still have the great weather.
