We Got a "Little" Rain Over Night.........
5-2-2010
Fox Valley Off Road HS Series Race 1
Ok so to make it clear we did get a little rain over night, here at
home......of course turning the corner 3 miles away from the riding park to much
dismay, standing water in the fields, it was evident that today was going to be
a mud fest not for the meek at heart. Now we are not going to get into race day
coverage, we will have to wait for the very capable story teller
"Nikki" to explain the play by play. Today was one of those kind
of days that makes one appreciate the dedication that racers truly have for the
off road racing sport called Hare Scrambles. Hills were snotty and slick
as a mayonnaise sandwich, but even if it took 3-4-5 try's the riders kept at it
til' they made it. RUT's oh ya, we had some ruts. Thumpers/ Women/ Vintage
classes had to be careful that the rut monster out back didn't eat them whole.
Monday those ruts were all smoothed out and waiting for the next go round......
Many course changes happened all through the day as the track started to go away, most of the "new" stuff was not run as it would be completely unrideable after about 20 bikes going through it with all the wet off cambers.
All in all it was a good day, riders even with the adversity seemed to have alot of fun, mud is such a big equalizer, and riders who know how to ride mud showed this day........and others that needed to learn, well they got a lesson on keeping their speed up......
Brett took over 600 photos, Nikki took a bunch and at this point not sure how many Muddy Waters Creations took as they were out there all day. Those photos are posted also on www.muddywatercreations.net .
Enjoy the photo pages we have posted and Nikki's race report will hit the site soon..........
