Sunset Quads 6-4-05 Saturday
uad B winner Jeff Juran said, “I’m doing good this year , riding almost every weekend, got four wheels and all my limbs, so I’m doing good. This win today was a good one Nick was on me all the way.” Suzuki mounted Nick Hollars of East Moline, Illinois said, “I like this track it is fast, especially the two tabletops, you can really launch. This is my first time here and I’m really not used to the track; I’ll do better next time.” Justin Brown from Bartonville, Illinois had a bad time of it in the first moto; his seat was falling off and he paid more attention to that than the track and finished tenth, but came back with a vengeance in the second moto with a secured seat and carded a third to make the podium but finished out of the money. “I got a little arm pump” said Justin, “Not bad, these quads have a mind of their own, you just point them in the right direction and let them go.” “I don’t know where he was in the first moto,” said overall quad A winner Bryce Waters from Farmer City, Illinois up on a Yamaha, “But he rode a hell of race the second moto. I would like to thank a few sponsors: Blaster Motor Sports, SF Racing, World Power Sports, Tag and AC Racing.” “The first moto was kind of nasty and I got left in the hole and had to eat a lot of roost to make it back up from dead last to third,” said Yamaha rider Shane Cocrhan of St. Charles, IL “Didn’t have to eat all that roost in the next moto and finished second. Jason Wehria of Sandwich Illinois up on a Blaster said, “I had a pretty easy time of it today in the 13-15 class . I had two hole shots and went all the way.I wish there had been more riders but I think the rain might have scared some of them away.” Matt Ruffing of New Berlin, Wisconsin charged for 1-2 finishes in the C class on a Yamaha before winning the overall and said, “I was right behind Dan (# 60) and he got into some loose stuff and spun out and it was just what I was waiting for, and I took the lead.” “I’m riding a 2 stroke,” said Eddy Jason, second place winner with 2-1 finishes and mounted on a Honda in the C class. “I have to ride a lot harder than the 4 stroke guy just to make up the difference in horsepower. And, to make things more difficult I have some kind of linkage trouble with the throttle and I have to pull it back by hand. That’s kind of scary going over some of these jumps. ” “I think I got a third,” said C rider Dan Goble after carding a pair of moto three finishes. “I got the holeshot in the second moto then stalled it in the third corner and spent the rest of the moto working up to third.”
